Dominoes

How to play the game?
Something they don't teach in school
Cramming our brains
With mostly useless facts
That don't help to connect the dots

Double blank to double six
And 26 other personalities in between
All wanting to be involved
In the game

Connecting with family and friends
And sometimes rivals
When we have no choice
Where we stand in line

Each individual piece
Is as important as the rest
But, more often than not
An individual is locked out
Of the dream
Changing the field of play
To an unjustified battlefield

Cutting all ties
With no connections to climb
The social ladder
An individual might lash out
Turning to a life of crime, drugs
And possibly suicide

We each have a role to play
But, don't expect to learn
The rules of this game in school
That's only for a privileged few
