Alien Signals

More often than not
I don't understand these aliens
A few talk with their hands
Some speak as fast as sound
Others talk as fast as light
Others even faster

But, the aliens that really
Blow my mind
I hear perfectly the words
That leave their mouths
But, for the life of me
I can't understand

Top of this hit list
I love you but,
I'm not in love with you

What does it mean?
How can you love someone
And not be in love
With the same someone?

Maybe it's because
I'm not from around here
Still trying to figure out
Where I fit in

I would love just once
For an alien to speak straight
Instead of sending out mixed signals
Of love and hate
