The Magic Box

Where are your parents?
They've gone out
That's good, now we can have fun
Do you like magic?
Just push my button
And watch me turn myself on
I might appear strange
A bit square faced
But, I'm sure your guardians
Told you about God
That I work in mysterious ways
That I'm everywhere
There isn't a household in the land
That I do not dwell
And the households that refuse me
That's where the Devil raises hell
Go on little one
Do not fear me
Push my button
And be dazzled by the light
And graphic images
Of a world you will one day grow
Your innocent protectors
Hide this truth I share with you
Behind a web of lies
Making you believe the centre of the world
Is Disney land
I hear a key in the lock
Push my button
And watch your world disappear
You'll miss me thinking I've gone
But, I'm not gone
I'm just a push of a button away
Mummy and daddy might leave you
But, I'm here to stay
Now run to them smiling
It'll be like another day without role models
