Remnants

Who's running the world?
Whoever it is
They must have crawled out
From under the rubble
Of the Berlin wall

Disillusioned and lost
In a free world
Hell bent on retaining some remnants
Of a dictatorship

Using this new found freedom
To carve out a niche for themselves

Was it in financial aid?
If so, the recession
Is far from a depression

Was it in religious doctrines?
If so, this shepherd is leading
Silent lambs to slaughter

Still disillusioned
But, now feels at home
Standing proudly in the wall
