Shangri-La

Come, meditate with me
Sit down, be still
Like water on a calm day
Only reflects the external
Today we will calm your soul

But first, you must learn how to breathe
It's not just in and out
But, slow patient thoughtful breaths

Slow breaths
To take in the beauty
Of the world around you

Patient breaths
To share some truths
With the world around you

Thoughtful breaths
To cleanse the mind
Of its impurities

Come, meditate with me
Sit down, be still
And breathe

A slow thoughtful inhalation
Feel it inflate the lungs
Purifying the blood
Soothing the mind
Filling the heart with joy

Hold on to this feeling
Don't be so eager
To pass on joy

Now, with a patient breath
Push what's left of joy out into the world
You can't keep it all for yourself

Repeat this cycle
Living together in harmony
Is like any healthy relationship
You've got to give and take
You've got to take and give

Life's secret
In slow patient thoughtful breaths
