Smile

From the day we are born
There's only one guarantee
Death smiles at us all

Whether it comes
In the guise of a friend
Lowering our defenses
With a pacifying hello

Or an unexpected collision
With the manufacturing industries
Toys of death
Proving no matter
Where you come from
Or who you are
We're all made for a fall

Or the way we all hope to go
But only a fortunate few do
Saying goodnight
Before being laid to rest
Six feet under
For the worms to digest

These are but a few
Of death's friendly forms
For when death comes
Wearing a smile just for you
All you can do
Is smile and reflect
On the life you have lived
